“Take a few extra breaths.”

I heard this in a class I took recently knowing it wasn’t the first time I’d heard it. But it was the first time I actually felt it. That I let it sink in.

Take a few extra breaths.

We’ve all been in a situation/ pattern where we just. don’t. stop. We layer on thinking that what we’re doing isn’t enough.

Here’s a reminder in case you need it - you’re doing enough. You are enough.

Anyone feel that there’s this intense sense of urgency? To do more? To do it quickly? To acquire more? To be successful? No matter the cost?

When I was traveling a few years ago a lot of the places operate on ‘island time’. No rush. Take it easy. Smile. It’ll be fine.

I swore (after I got over the initial shock and frustration) that I would adopt this way of life into my own.

Have I done it? Absolutely not. BUT, when I heard ‘Take a few extra breaths’ in class the other day it brought me back. I thought -ooooooh, yes. I can take a few extra breaths. I will take a few extra breaths. Thank you for the reminder Laura.

So here I am. Taking a few extra breaths.

And not adding anything on.

As you read this - maybe have can have a think about where you could benefit from taking a few extra breaths. What fills you up and what takes away? Is there an opportunity to change your patterns, even if it’s just a small one?
